COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS
Students majoring and minoring in computer science represent a broad range of backgrounds, skills, and career aspirations. Graduates in computer science go on to careers such as programmer, Web developer, systems analyst, and IT manager. Local companies that have hired recent graduates include ConAgra, Union Pacific, Mutual of Omaha, Ameritrade, and Creighton University. In addition, many students choose to continue their studies in computer science, attending graduate school at univerisities such as the University of Illinois, Kansas State University, and the University of Nebrasks-Lincoln.
While still at Creighton, our students take advantage of opportunities to apply their knowledge through part-time work and internships. Creighton's Divisioin of Information Technology (DoIT) employs many computer science majors in the help desk, in software development, and in network administration. In addition, opportunities exist for working with local companies during the school year and for finding summer internships abroad. Working with faculty, students may receive academic credit for internships, or design Independent Study courses to explore areas of special interest.
