Computer Science ProgramIn an increasingly high-tech world, graduates with knowledge and skills in computing and information technology are in high demand. Computing careers such as software engineer, Web designer, systems analyst, database manager, and network administrator, can be challenging, dynamic, rewarding, and very lucrative. A Computer Science degree from Creighton University provides practical knowledge and skills for the information technology jobs of today, while also building the foundation for a career in which learning and adapting to new technologies is essential. The Creighton Computer Science program constitutes a four year technical curriculum intended to prepare graduates to pursue careers in the computer science field or to continue their education in computer science graduate programs. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (B.S.C.S.) is the standard degree option for students pursuing a career or graduate study in computing. For those considering a double major, the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with major in Computer Science requires fewer hours and is an ideal alternative. The department also offers two minors, a Minor in Computer Science and an interdisciplinary Minor in Interactive Web Development (offered in partnership with the Graphic Design program). Degree Programs:
Note: the B.S.C.S. degree with concentration in Applied Computer Science, the Co-major in Computer Science, and the M.S. degree in Computer Science are no longer being offered. However, current students in these programs may complete their degrees under the old system. |
