B.S.C.S. with concentration in Applied Computer Science
Applied Computer Science is available as a field of concentration for the degree of
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (B.S.C.S.) in the Creighton
College of Arts and Sciences or in
University College. Consistent with the goals of a liberal education at
Creighton, specified degree requirements must be met simultaneously in a
student's major area of concentration, his or her supporting area of
concentration, and in elective courses.
A. Requirements for B.S.C.S. with concentration in Applied Computer Science
A student studying for a B.S. degree needs to complete a total of
36 semester hours in CSC (computer science) courses. Following the five core
courses, one of two upper-level sequences can be completed, either
Software Engineering or Electronic Commerce.

take a one hour orientation course entitled Freshman Seminars.
2. All students studying for B.S. degrees at Creighton must take four
approved Certified Writing courses. These courses may "double count"
toward Core or major requirements. See the Undergraduate Issue of the
Creighton University Bulletin for more details.
3. Courses not taken to fulfill any of the preceding
requirements may be chosen as electives to complete the 128 semester
